Where ONA Goes: San Francisco with Helena Price
We always love finding out how people first heard about ONA: for photographer Helena Price, she was taking photos of ONA long before she was putting her camera in one. As a freelance photographer for Photojojo in 2011, she captured the versatility of the Roma Camera Insert. A couple of years later, we ran into her through friends in New York City, fell in love with her portfolio and asked her to be in our Palma Satchel video. The photography world is smaller than you would think!
Helena recently switched coasts, moving from the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn (and that beautiful rooftop featured in the video) to the seven hills of San Francisco where she shoots for super-cool brands like DropBox, Nike and Square. Even though we miss her talent in the city, she was kind enough to give us a peek into the daily life of her and her Chelsea Bag in San Francisco: a morning at Ocean Beach, grabbing some coffee and toast at Trouble, doing an author photoshoot on the beach, then walking through her neighborhood, then heading back to her roof for another photoshoot for an apparel blog. Helena is doing a lot of things, but we’re most envious of her rooftop luck–how gorgeous is that view over San Francisco?

What gear do you put in your bag?
Hi Melinda! On a typical day, I stuff the chelsea with way too many things.
- Macbook Air + charge cord
- Canon 5D MII and a 35mm 1.4 lens
- iPhone + charge cord
- Moleskine and pen
- External hard drive
- Sunglasses and regular glasses
- Business cards
- A few other random knickknacks.
Somehow I manage to make it all fit!
